چکیده

The Arctic is currently experiencing unprecedented changes across all components of the climate system, primarily driven by global warming. As an important indicator change in Arctic, sea level reflects variations both atmosphere and ocean. This paper analyzes variation Ocean over past four decades using ORAS5 data, which product latest reanalysis-analysis system produced European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). accurately reproduces main spatial features climatology temporal evolution surface height (SSH) Ocean, as observed satellite altimeters, reveals that seasonal variability most significant property this region. cycle SSH closely linked to atmospheric circulation ice formation. first two dominant modes annual-mean exhibit decadal variability. mode can be explained Ekman transport wind related Oscillation (AO), leads antiphase on continental shelves deep basins. second shows oscillation between Eurasian Canadian Archipelago (CAA) sides anomaly associated with dipole (DA). Due modes, particularly AO, has been continuously rising since mid-1990s or early 2000s, rapid rise occurring Beaufort Sea.

Sea level rise in the Arctic Ocean

About 60 tide-gauge stations in the Kara, Laptev, East-Siberian and Chukchi Seas have recorded the sea level change from the 1950s through 1990s. Over this 40-year period, most of these stations show a significant sea level rise (SLR). In light of global change, this SLR could be a manifestation of warming in the Arctic coupled with a decrease of sea ice extent, warming of Atlantic waters, chan...

Sea level variability in the Arctic Ocean from AOMIP models

[1] Monthly sea levels from five Arctic Ocean Model Intercomparison Project (AOMIP) models are analyzed and validated against observations in the Arctic Ocean. The AOMIP models are able to simulate variability of sea level reasonably well, but several improvements are needed to reduce model errors. It is suggested that the models will improve if their domains have a minimum depth less than 10 m...

On October 1, 2013 the reporting of diagnoses and procedures in the U.S. will transition from the clinical modification of the ninth revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9-CM) to the tenth revision (ICD-10). The impact of conversion to ICD-10 on Medicare MS-DRG payments to hospitals was estimated using 2009 Medicare data. A minimal hospital payment increase of 0.05 perc...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Rapid sea-level fall and deep-ocean temperature change since the last interglacial period

We have dated Huon Peninsula, Papua New Guinea and Barbados corals that formed at times since the Last Interglacial Period, applying both 230Th and 231Pa dating techniques as a test of age accuracy. We show that Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 5e ended prior to 113.18 0.7 kyr, when sea level was 319 m. During MIS 5b sea level was 357 m at 92.68 0.5 kyr, having dropped about 40 m in approximately 10 ...
